    You did really well to get those in holders. 1851 is soaring in price in particular. 1848 is a real sleeper, 1852 is increasing in price, and 1857-S is a monster pain in the butt to locate in undamaged condition, never mind XF. 1850 seems to be available in VF grades.

    nothing "mundane" about any of those dates !
    regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything

    I like all of those dates-i found the 1851 to be the toughest followed by the 1852, then the 1850 and 1848. Believe it or not the last one I found after much searching was an 1846. And as stated earlier the 1857-S is very tough to find in undamaged condition- I purchased a raw Xf some years ago for the late Jim O'Donnell- who was the guy to buy better date seated coins from.
