Anybody know the year of this card/set?

Bruno was my math teacher in high school. One day he showed us his scars from playing football with the 49ers, took up half the class.

  • No idea, have you tried contacting the seller? It's cheap enough that you might want to take a shot because it seems like the $7 you spend will have much more nostalgic value.

My 2 minutes of research leads me to beleive it's a ZeeNut set, but I got nothing beyond that.

EDIT: 1 more minutes tells me it isn't a ZeeNut, but maybe a local issue of some sort. Price is right for a flyer - maybe the back would tell you something.

I recall seeing a similar card of a different player and my impression at the time was that these are modern printings in a vintage style. I also do not think they were licensed.

I think the seller prints these in his basement.

The seller has modern (80/90s) hockey players for sale from this same design/set/game.

Yeah, pretty sure he is printing these on his own, he has some golf cards as well, when I inquired who manufacturers these and where I could get a complete set, I got a answer that was amusing, but about as vague as possible.

A quick ebay search pulled it up as a "2001 Zeenut" issue. I've never heard of it but there are Puckett cards that have sold...

I recently purchased Cal & Bill Ripken cards that are similar (Zeenuts); I paid a few bucks each & believe them to be collector issues.

He makes them himself. He has a variety of different designs. He sells one design that has a penny inside the card from the player's birth year. They are essentially worthless. But, they are interesting and if you just want to own them for the interestingness of them then for a few bucks I suppose they are worth it.
