Who is the player (other than Munson) on the card? Someone at Hardball Times asked. Thanks.

Looks like Kekich to me, but I've never seen him with a porn stache

Didn't he and Petersen grow them together after their wife swap story went public?

I'll bet a very high resolution scan where his face takes up the whole screen would help

There is a great song on the Baseball Project series called "The Ballad of Mike Kekich and Fritz Peterson" available on YepRoc Records.
Tallulah Bankhead — 'There have been only two geniuses in the world. Willie Mays and Willie Shakespeare.'

Yeah, I'm voting Fritz now too.

  • Check out Fritz Peterson's 72 In Action #574 photo. Looks to be from the same game. Same stadium, same long-sleeved shirt under the jersey, and the jersey is unbuttoned at the top.
Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all "right-thinking" people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.”

Why are we assuming it is a pitcher? Just because he is standing on the mound? Is he wearing a glove? Was Fritz a RH or LH? Could it be a coach? Why are they called grape nuts if there are no grapes and no nuts in them? And what's the deal with airline food.

Fritz was/is left handed and IIRC it is him.

    Good for you.

Cool card due to the Munson factor, but that may be one of the most
boring, non-action "In Action" cards I've ever seen. image

I believe it's Jim Turner the Yankees pitching coach.
