PTVETTERPTVETTER Posts: 6,028 ✭✭✭✭✭
it is my understanding that someone in alabama is selling fake silver coins and bars from china on ebay.

Can this be verified and if so what can be done?

You are just now hearing that folks sell fakes on Ebay that originated in China?

    Oh my,

PS: if you see the fakes just report them to Ebay and they will pull them and ban
    the seller if needed.

I turn people into Ebay for just this several times each day, but then I do look at a
    lot of auctions on Ebay.

    1. contact the seller and voice your opinion
    2. Click on report item and make your case
    3. Contact federal authorities
    4. Post link here for further discussion and input from forum members.

  • There were a couple of threads on the Precious Metals Forum about fakes. One was a report of fake 2011 Maples. Venue alone will not protect a person. If a person buys fakes from Ebay, that person may resell at the local flea market or coin club. Pictures won't be enough evidence to condemn a well made fake coin or bar. Be careful.
