Is it fake? What is going on with the borders? Looks like someone took a black marker to them?

If you spent less than 125.00 on the card I think you did ok. But any more I would return it.
    Neat card though.

Look at bottom border on back of card...definately looks trimmed to me. Good luck.

Theres no ink mark on it, the card measures at 3.75 Length Width 2 5/8 looks like a little chipping on the back of the card where you might think there was ink on it.

  • Looks like a pretty nice card to me.

I just picked up a 1960 Koufax PSA 6 from the local card store today. I can't resist anything from 59 or 60.

Well, it looks like its from 1955. The company is Topps, not Bowman. This is Koufax's RC. Yup, its a 1955 Koufax.

The 'inking' is a registration issue, notice the light blue under the name?

I'm not sure if it's been trimmed or not, It's not obvious IMO.

    Nice card.

    Good for you.

Well hopefully the card is alright. Tomm it will be sent to SGC since my PSA has expired. Along with it I am sending a nice 62 Mickey Mantle. Wish it luck.

Mule, if I were you, I would renew your membership for at least the 6 cards, and use the two you mentioned for two of them. They will be worth more in the PSA holders, and you will be glad they graded them.

Nice card! I agree on renewing with PSA. As frustrated as I am with them right now, they are still the best.

I was checking the VCP Average for both PSA and SGC they are pretty close to the same for the 2 cards. I was checking other ones and PSA is by far the best choice for returns.

I have had many 55s in the past and balck smudges on borders were appearing on many cards, probably a quality control issue.I would say IMO its just a sloppy cut also prone to the 55s.
