Ebay Bids that appear during search are lagging behind actual bids

I had a buddy that called and we have both found the same problem. Items that are ending soon show zero bids but when you click on the item there are active bids...Seems to be a big time delay before the correct bids show up.

Anybody else noticed this? It's been going on most of the day and has been at times, way way off...

I executed a bid through eSnipe a couple of hours ago and it worked fine (won the item, too!)

I'm referring to the way the bids appear during a search. For example, doing a routine item search showed an item 2 bids at 22.50. I considered bidding as I thought it was low, clicked on the item and when it pulled up it has 6 bids and was up to 49.00. It took several hours before the accurate bid was displayed.

Have you made a bid on anything lately and experienced problems? If not, maybe you should change the title of the thread to more accurately reflect the problem you are having.

Unfortunately, this is something that has happened on and off for just about as long as eBay has been in existence.

Thanks, somehow I just never noticed. I've got back and checked a few items and it does seem to be working properly...It was really bad earlier. Behind by 3 to 4 bid count.

I've noticed this for years, especially if you are trying to catch auctions ending within a few minutes. The server can't keep updating the search items in real time. While the actual page counts down the seconds and updates bids (didn't used to do the countdown), the search doesn't update until I hit refresh. May be the browser.
