Hey Guys,

I found one of these coins absolutely uncirculated.
Someone help me to classify it? Any idea about the value?

I love those things. Do you have Breen? I have it and he has some info about CA fractional gold. There is someone who collects these things on these boards who send me some pointers. I've got a new computer and have'nt moved my old mail and stuff. If he doesn't post soon I'll go and try to dig those pointers up. There is a lot of info on the web somewhere...

I am working on mini type set of those things. There are round and octagonal. There are liberty heads and indian heads. There are 1/4, 1/2 and 1 dollars. Really there are tons of varieties all with very low mintages.

Can you scan it? I could try to look it up in my Breen. I've paid a few hundred dollars for nice MS examples.

simple test ...

does it have a bear on the reverse ? If so ... value is minimal.

Does it have some denomination specification on the reverse ... 1/4 dol etc ... if so value is dependent on variety and condition.
