Baseball(Cards) and Juice

Would you say that if a player tests postive for PED's, that his chances to get into the hall have gone completely, absolutely, postively out the door or can all be forgiven?

We know that Mcgwire didnt get in probably because he admitted... and personally I dont think he should either. Sure he helped revive baseball 98 but he sure made himself a lot of money from sponsers and media Im sure so to say he did it for the game I wouldnt believe but probably more for personal gain.

How about players such as Clemens and Bonds who have been denying ever since being accused, do they still have a shot? There numbers are hard to ignore - or is it just simply impossible.

Whats are your thoughts?

I added a picture just in case someone wanted to make a comment about this card to keep this baseball card related.

  • ok, ok - fair enough. Ill play by the rules.

Lets also add - Do you think the players cards would be affected by such scandal?

Certain players cards seems to have an affect although AROD's cards continue to remain valuable. Why is that. Because he is a Yankee?

Who knows. But if you get their cards graded by PSA the value will go up a million percent. Now you're on topic.

First thing people should do is get an understanding of these drugs and what they can do for an athlete's performance.

One good way to do that is read Canseco's book "Juiced". Steroids can dramatically increase a players ability. I do not believe any of the proven/admitted offenders should be admitted to the HOF ever. As far as card prices go, if people want to collect these players their card values will still be strong.

Of the players mentioned so far, Clemens is the only one I am undecided about. He never tested positive and the total $cumbag (former trainer) that was his main accuser had no credibility what so ever. Bonds has admitted to using the "clear and cream" hasn't he? Not too sure about his use being proven, but his physical change was tremendous.

Most of all, I think it is a great loss to baseball that some of the players who would have been considered among the all time greats of the game chose to cheat. Arod is especially hard to understand as it seems he was super conscious of his image from day one. Using PEDs kind of messed that up Alex.

The players that I have seen admit to using also always hide behind "I wanted to get healed quickly and get back on the field" excuse. PLEASE, you cheated to get bigger, stronger, better and ultimately richer and more famous. No HOF for you!

I'm not very good at spotting alts. Probably because I am too trusting and give all the benefit of the doubt. However Nam and CDs are so obvious I spotted it years ago. BTW I am a bit suspicious of you being Scott.

The sad side note of the whole thing is that Bonds and Clemens would have both been first ballot Hall of Famers before they ever took a steroid or PED. Most of the others in question cannot say that.
