Any information on this German medal?

My partner and I bought this today and we're wondering if anyone knows what it is. Our searching has shown that it's a medal probably from Augsburg in Germany. One side depicts the Augsburg town hall and the Perlach tower. The reverse depicts the Augsburg coat of arms and motto in Latin. I'm guessing it's 0.900 silver and weights 33 grams and measures 42mm diameter.

Any help is appreciated.

I have not been able to find any info on the coin/medal itself, but the image on the reverse is a copy of the stone releif on the east side of the city hall building in Augsburg.

The latin inscription on the scroll translates to "To you, O Christ, is justly famous in Augsburg, the city truly royal."

Hope this helps. Good luck tracking it down

I actually stood in that plaza back in Nov 1998. They had a Christmas celebration.

Here is a catalog in German that may reference this medallion. It is one of two that appear designed by the same person. It is labeled MM44.50. The specifications match yours. The related one pictured in the catalog is labeled MM44. See page 4 for the listing.

Hope this helps. If you find out more, please post.

PDF file and about 7 Mb. Great pictures.
