Always love Sporcle Quizzes...those are well done!
  • I went 20/20 on the first quiz.I haven't taken the second one yet.

20/20. Putting it in year order helped with the memory. Gonna try number 2 now.

Only got 2 and gave up. Much harder on the 2nd quiz. Fun quizzes, thanks!

I only got 11/20 and missed two of the most popular players.

4 minutes goes by very quickly.

Finished the first one with 2:13 to go. The second one will be much tougher.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Thanks for the test. Nice job! There is also a HOF on a multi player RC in the '62 set, but he is more known for his exploits of the field than on, so not sure whether he would qualify.

I think you meant the 1963 Set, with Charlie Hustle?

A useless interesting fact regarding HOF multi-player cards:

One player appears on both Jim Rice and Andre Dawson's rookie card, representing 2 different teams, spread 2 years apart!

I think he means 1962 Bob Uecker

He is a Hall of Famer on a multi player card.

After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.

Got all 20 with 1:42 to spare on the first one. Topps vintage is my specialty and i have multiples of each of those sets, fairly easy.

Awesome, didn't know that. Somehow, Uecker wasn't included in the PSA HOF Rookie Card Registry Set
  • Cokin75Cokin75 Posts: 243 ✭✭
Yep. Ueck is in the Ford Frick wing of the HOF as a broadcaster, I don't think that he's listed with the players. That is probably why he's not listed on the registry. Very cool card though, and ironically it's more expensive than most of the other rookies on the list who made it as a player.

Got all 20 with 1:45 to spare.
    Good for you.

I know my rookies yet the first 3 that I punched in didnt show.... so I basically gave up and went 1/2 a$$ and still got 14...
Steve you should have titled it "Topps Rookies"

the first 3 that I punched in were Rizzuto (1941 R330 Double Play), Slaughter (1941 R330 Double Play), Boudreau (1941 R330 Double Play)....

then you have Appling, Ferrell, Ott, etc. etc.

this is the real list in case any of you have never seen it...

    20 with 2:04 to spare

Edited to say that I paused between years to think through the cards.
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!

Went 19/20 in the first one (whiffed on the guy from the '69 set) and 11/20 (good for the 97th percentile) in the second one.

Odd how sometimes this stuff sticks in your mind and sometimes doesn't. I can name every other guy on Murphy and Lynn's cards but no one else on Rice's or Carter's.
