For those of you who wondered why I pulled my Cards off the BST without notice ... Please Read ...

It's a long and complicated story but this was on the news
PS I'm out a lot of money.
Being honest has it's cost.
Cards are going back to Original owner after trial.
editted to add they see me as a victim too, should be pressing Grand larceny charges on him also.
"Canandaigua police say a man from Gates sold stolen sports cards worth $75,000 to a collector in Canandaigua.
Jason C. Howell, 33, of 196 Gates-Greece Townline Road in Gates was charged with second-degree criminal possession of stolen property,
a class C felony, on Friday, Jan. 5.
Police say Howell is accused of possessing the cards after he obtained them as the result of a burglary in Monroe County.
The cards, sold to the collector on several different dates, were baseball cards depicting players including Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle.
Howell was arraigned in Canandaigua City Court, and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond bail."

It's really crappy getting stolen property.... They CAN choose not to prosecute...
And honestly shouldn't... You will be out all the $ for the cards you sold most likely... But they shouldn't prosecute...
Crappy and expensive
Wow sorry to hear that Smitty, as someone who did a Flawless $1000+ deal with Smitty I can testify that in my dealing he even sent the item out before the check had cleared. I hope that the DA finds it makes more sense to not heap more misery on you. Do you care to share anymore on how this went down?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
<< <i>I read this a little differently guys ... I read it as though Jason C. Howell was the guy Smittys bought the cards from. I don't think Smittys is being prosecuted. Let us know Smittys! Hope it works out the best it can for you. >>
Ok, that's not how I confused it from his first post....So Smitty what did happen ??
Neil
I hope you get your money back Smitty!

very honorable....I once purchased a stolen item that belonged to the Baltimore Orioles (employee theft) off eBay. I contacted the Orioles and asked if they wanted it back as I was uncomfortable owning stolen property....They told me I could keep it, but thanked me for asking....(it was a game used base from Cal Ripken's last season).
