Comes down to Jason Kidd or Tim Duncan...who's your pick for MVP?

Well, after long thoughts and many days of pondering........don't you just love sarcasm? image

...but erm...Tim Duncan is my pick for MVP. He's the "lonestar" of the Spurs and he literally carried the Spurs on his back and they rode him for the ride. He has some amazing numbers, especially the double doubles. I'd say Duncan is the most deserving although Kidd isn't too far behind...

    Yes, I actually thought Kidd was the MVP up until Duncan turned it up a notch. He really deserves it more than Kidd in my view.

    I seen the highlights of that game D-gal, was that you on the front row behind the opponent's bench distracting them with your good looks so maybe they'd pay more attention to you instead of THEIR opponents? imageimage

    tim duncan.....jason kidd aka wife beater had better stats last year as a sun. Why wasn't he mvp last year? This just goes to show he has a better team around him.

    Duncan is mvp 100% sure.

    Kobe single-handedly took out the Spurs last season. Better look out! There's a hurricane comin' through and it's called Shaq-Daddy and The Package! hehe

    I think Jason Kidd is MVP. (Probably because I can't stand to watch Duncan play.) But it does help that Kidd turned around the NETS. I mean that is a feat in itself. image

    i would give it to PAUL PIERCE he is playing outstanding basketball right now and he is bringing that team to some nice things later on. either him or KIDD

    Kidd did help turnaround the Nets, but Duncan is a better player. But all I really have to say is Go Pistons!!!
    They will hopefully play well. Their defense is great and some of their shooters like Atkins are finally coming
    around. They would have a tough time in the Finals (fingers crossed) against a team with a big man (Shaq, Duncan, Webber, etc...), but they're getting better there. Rebraca is a big boy, but green. He's getting better
    since they let him start a few games. His footwork is lackluster, but he's improving and should be solid for them in the years to come. And now that Stack has finally realized he isn't the best player ever, he's actually
    become a better player (more assist + less points = better team player). And finally there's Ben. The guy is
    an animal. Twice as good as Rodman without the attitude (but still a freaky doo). He better get the defensive
    player of the year. Go Pistons!!!

    That's okay, I know a lot of people just don't like Tim so they won't be objective in their remarks. If you look at the stats, you will see that Tim is overall ahead and truly deserves it. If he gets another double double tonight he will have 67, which means he only missed 15 games that he didn't have one, and several of those he missed out by one rebound. He gives 100% all the time, and all I ask is that he get his just reward, finally! Thanks for letting me stand on my soap box, lol....

    Tim- 40.6 min., 50.8 FG %, 80.0 FT, 12.7 RB, 3.7 Ast., 2.4 Blocks, 25.5 Pts.
    Pierce- 40.4 min., 44.2 FG%, 80.9 FT, 6.9 RB, 3.2 Ast., 1.1 Blocks, 26.3 Pts.

    not a huge difference between tim and pierce- kidd (by the numbers) shouldnt be involved, but u have to look past stats and look at his team

    i have to say kidd b/c he has totally transformed a team--- although Duncan is a great player his team has been making the playoffs every year since hes been in the league and dont forget they even won a championship 3-4 years ago (98-99) the nets $ucked till this year and were pathetic. Now they are the top of the east but thats not saying much lol since the east has no dominant teams and is very spread out through the top 10-12 teams

    Chemistry is more important than people sometimes realize. Marbury can put up some good numbers, but his attitude bites (from what I have heard).

    You are right Josh, the Spurs have been making the playoffs consistantly since Tim came, and it is about time he was recognized for it. He should have gotten MVP the year we won the Championship, but Malone got it on a sympathy vote. I don't want Tim to get it that way, he worked so hard this year, and really deserves it.

    Kidd for MVP!! Anyone that can turn a 26-56 team into a 51+ win team deserves the MVP.

    8 Triple Doubles!! and he also has had MANY games where he was 2 rebs or 2 assists off.... most clutch player in NBA this side of Kobe Bryant... and Duncan still hasn't beaten the Lakers... he's not a big-game player...

    you switch Jason Kidd with anyone in the NBA right now who isn't Shaquille O'Neal, the Nets don't make the playoffs.

    Kidd...he brought the nets to respectability...he made that team...just like he did in college, with the Mavs, With the Suns...does anyone else see a pattern?

    I am not saying Kidd didn't help turn the Nets around this year, but single handedly, no. He had a lot of help from Martin and Kittles. I am so sick of people saying Tim can't beat the Lakers, you conveniently forget us sweeping them back in '99. I think we are on an even keel this year.
    I would never say one player is better than another, each has his own style and specialty. I just say overall this year Tim has been the most consistant and done the most single handedly for the team.

    I believe Kidd will get it. The Nets have done a 180 and are a strong chance of going to the finals. The Spurs are consistently in the playoffs and there team isn't much different from years past. That's why Kidd gets it even though Duncan is more than qualified.

    First I would like to say does MVP stand for MVP on your team or the MVP that every team wants? I dunno. But...personally I think Jason Kidd because of the big turnaround record wise. Duncan is amzing and has been great all his life. He would be my #2 or #3 MVP but whatever happenedto MJ???? I know he hasn't been playing much cause of his but still, he gave the Wizards a great shot at the playoffs. If he would have kept playing they might even bei the playoffs. I dunno. That's my 2 cents.
