Monster Mick. A new pickup.

Now let me first say that I'm not a hobby heavyweight, but I am working on a decent Mantle collection. This is a belated Christmas gift.......to myself.

The thing I love the most about this card is that it is HUGE. Takes up the whole holder! Enjoy.

You don't need to underscore your find with the "I am not a hobby heavyweight comment".

This is an open forum for collectors to post their cards and opinions and the fact that you have a much more expensive collection then most should not be an issue. It is only an issue to those who might be jealous that you have the financial means to buy such cards.

I have been thrilled to see high end collectors post their awesome cards here.

That is a fantastic card and congratulations on such a great addition to your collection.

Wow, great card. Thats my favorite 60s Mantle issue. Those corners look sharp enough to slice that slab open.

WOW! That Mantle is better than 707's current offering and also superior to the 9 on eBay that went for over $3,300! SWEET image

Was this an ebay pick up?

    Nice card.

What do you think kept it out of a 10? Left to right centering?

Sadly, that's the first thing I noticed and the first thing I normally look for with high-grade cards. That aside, that is one beautiful Mick. Congrats!
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

There's a microscopic edge issue on the left side that probably keeps it from 10 consideration. That aside, it's the nicest 65 Mantle 9 that I've seen.

This is one of my favorite Mantle cards, first graded 65 I've ever owned.

"""""not bad for a guy who can't win a footrace with Bengie Molina. """""

    lol
Bengie only wins if the race is 180' with 1 turn..

Mick seemed to poop out after 90', or walked the last 1/2 to 1st .....must have been all those late night beers and cigs .......or maybe bad greenies image

nice card, and youre right it seems big

I'd like to find a nice 64 next, & the elusive 57 Mantle/Berra that's centered with no snow is always on the list (sigh). I've yet to see a 62 & 69 that I like too.
