Take a look. This is fun. how would you spend your $$??

Assuming the following 5 cards can be purchased for about the same $$ (give or take $50), which one would you choose, and why? This is tougher than you think.

Cheers,

Bob

I like the Red Grange. I don't own any, but I have always liked those Sport Kings cards. It's not the best conditioned card of the bunch, but I think the wear gives it character.

I like the Duke and it isn't close in my eyes. Tough part it needs to be put into a PSA holderimage

Assuming that the values of the cards are similar (I did not look up the VCPs) I would go with the Snider card. It presents VERY well for the grade.

Great centering on the Snider, I'll take that one.
  • I'd go with the Aaron, just a personal favorite from what you showed.

Good thing I can read in the early AM's.

He meant give or take $50 on the purchase prices being the same

    That is tough, my order:

    1. Aaron
    1a. Grange
    3. Feller, Robinson, Snider

I would flip a coin between 1 and 1a. That is very cool selection of cards not a bad one in the lot.

    Jackie Robinson

    Reasoning:

    1. Baseball has always had more collectors than football, thus higher prices
    2. Rookie cards have one of the broadest appeals in the hobby, thus they are always in demand
    3. Jackie Robinson has cross-cultural appeal that the other players do no have--as the "man who broke the color barrier," he is a significant figure in American history, and thus some people who would not normally collect cards could potentially be in the market for a Jackie rookie card

Buy the Aaron send it to Steiner and get it signed for 160....Value of the card would triple.
  • KbKardsKbKards Posts: 1,782 ✭✭✭
The Robinson card, followed closely by the Grange, then the Snider. Aaron is horrible for the grade and Feller is short.

The Snider looks great for the grade, but I would go with the Aaron.

    1. Aaron
    2. Snider
    3. Robinson
    4. Grange
    5. Feller

I would go with the Snider, followed by the Jackie Robinson. Both are excellent examples for the grade.
  • Beck6Beck6 Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭
Feller because it is an 8. That assumes it is not short as someone has suggested. Robinson probably second followed by Aaron, then Grange and then Duke. Far fewer examples of the Feller will exist over time in that grade.

It's Oh Henry all the way for me. The Grange would be 2nd. Don't like the design of the Jackie or Duke cards and don't like B&W cards so Rapid Robert is out too.

  • The ban is lifted but a new era of responsibility was born with it. Somewhat. I did reach 500/524 on my T206 set. Buying has slowed because I just can't find the remaining 24 cards (at a responsible price that is).

    Thanks for remembering.

I would take the Grange. Though all are classics, except maybe the 1948 Feller.
  • Unless the back of the card is really jacked up, I'd have to say the Snider. That is a ridiculously nice looking 4. The fact that it's a HOF RC is icing on the cake.

    Also...... 1K, baby!!

I would say the Aaron. All three Bowman's just have a bland card design, although I like all the players.

The Red Grange card looks cool, but I don't collect football cards. But those silouettes are neat. one guy is in the process of breaking his neck, one is pointing at the runner while stepping on the crotch of a fallen opponent, and one guy is flipping off the runner.

Snider may look best but i still have to go with Jackie Robinson here. Hes an iconic player and i would like to eventually own his rookie card when i have enough money. Definetly one of the best.

Just because I have the Grange and Aaron. I also have the 48 Jackie Robinson.

I don't know much about that other Feller.
