Sheet cut?
![tsalems1](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/rsz_logo.gif)
Been looking at some o-pee-chee cards in BVG and BGS in high grade. They dont have the rough cuts and are very sharp! Most but not
all opc cards have the rough cuts but does BVG and BGS grade sheet cut cards (never had any before). I would be looking to get these
cards in PSA holders but know PSA doesnt grade sheet cut cards. Any help would be great, thnx!

Side story...
Over 10 years ago, before I knew any better, I use to buy lots of high grade hockey cards from a seller Martin Sports Cards (the still sell on ebay). I use to go and meet the seller and pick up the cards in person. I asked one day how he gets the cards so perfect. His response, he buys sheets and cuts them. At one time he sold BGS and PSA...now only BGS and all 9.5s. I actually ran into him at the Toronto Hockey Card national (didn't talk to him though) this winter and his table was full of BGS/BVG 9.5 o-pee-chee baseball and hockey. Hundreds of them. He lives in a big fancy house on a hill and does very well for himself last I heard.

Thank you Mathew!
<< <i>The best way to tell a BGS/BVG O-pee-chee (baseball or hockey) sheet cut graded card is by the sub-grades. They will all be 10s or 9.5s but the surface. It will always be the lowest grade.

I noticed that Martin Sports is now selling mostly PSA slabbed cards.
They still advertise that they buy uncut sheets.

if you ever find the guy who is most ethical, i'll write a story about you.
<< <i>Here's an interesting question: If a dealer acquires an original cutting machine from OPC, and uses it to cut a sheet into individual cards, would the cards produced be considered legitimate? >>
No, they would be modern era sheet cuts instead of original cards that survived the careless OPC workers, kids sticky fingers, bike tires and spring cleaning by frenetic mothers.
Then these modern sheet cuts, say 1970's including 80/81 would flood ebay and prices would drop just like they did with BGS. This is of course, theoretically speaking and it would happen because cards that didn't exist above an 8 or 9 naturally were now getting 10's and thus driving down demand for lower grades. Eventually, the 10's would go down in price as the numbers increased which would prove that the cards were not legitimate.
