1965 ORIGINAL HOGANS HEROES FLEER TRADING CARD BOX MAY BE 1 OF 3 IN EXISTENCE

I AM THE OWNER OF WHAT MAY BE ONE OF THREE KNOWN ORIGINAL HOGANS HEROES 1965 FLEER TRADING CARD BOXES. IN NEARLY 47 YEARS ALMOST NONE EXIST OR REMAIN. I AM CURIOUS TO KNOW IF ANY OTHER COLLECTORS HAVE THIS BOX IN THEIR COLLECTION. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE CHEAP REPLICAS BEING MADE.
I AM THE LEADING COLLECTOR OF HOGANS HEROES MEMORABILIA IN THE UNITED STATES, IM NOT REALLY A CARD COLLECTOR SUCH AS THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE HERE. I AM IN SEARCH OF OPINIONS AND POSSIBLE VALUES PLACED UPON THIS BOX. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH, AND AWARE OF THE SCARCENESS OF THIS BOX. I AM CONSIDERING GETTING IT GRADED AND REGISTERED, AS FAR AS I KNOW IF I DO GET IT GRADED IT MAYBE THE ONLY ONE ON RECORD. VISUALLY AT FIRST GLANCE THIS BOX MIGHT GRADE OUT AS HIGH AS GAI OR PSA 8.0
COMPLETE BOX, HIGH GLOSS ,GREAT COLOR, MOST OF THE PREORATIONS ARE IN TACT. MINIMAL EDGE AND CORNER WEAR.
ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS PLEASE EMAIL ME DIRECT AT ALANLADD828@YAHOO.COM AT THIS POINT IN TIME NOT CONSIDERING OFFERS, UNLESS IT IS A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT DUE TO THE RARENESS OF THIS BOX. I AM ALSO WANTING TO PURCHASE AN EMPTY ENCAPULATING BOX OR PACKAGE FOR THIS BOX.

SINCERELY
SHANE

    Hi Shane

Welcome. The only advice I can give is to stay away from GAI.

Good luck with your box, perhaps you can share a picture?

    Steve
    Good for you.

WHO WOULD YOU SUGGEST GRADE IT, IF NOT GAI...YOU CAN SEE MY CONCERNS AS TO WHY I DONT WANT TO LET IT OUT OF SIGHT ?
    THANKS
    SHANE
  • I don't know if anyone grades boxes.... I can't tell from your post if there are actually cards in the box or it is just an empty box.

For packs... PSA.... You even said them in your first post.

I would not bother grading an empty box. The market does not seem to place any value on this at all.
The most important thing is that the box is protected. I would suggest some sort of shrink wrap if it can be assured it's archival and won't damage the box over time. Otherwise I'd consider having a clamshell plexi case made.
My biggest concern about wax boxes (I have about 70) is fading from light damage. Flourescent lights will kill it, as will direct sunlight.
Lot #1542 in Legendary's Feb 2009 auction contained an empty box, in April 2006 their predesesor, Mastro, offered a full box with packs (lot 547). Ron Oser auctions (a division of Mastro/Legendary) offered a box in their August 2002 auction. I believe I've seen a few others as well, in other auctions and in mixed lots with other boxes. There should be plenty of prior sales for you to ascertain value and scarcity.
Now please excuse me, Frauline Hilga is bringing me strudel for breakfast.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Welcome to the boards and as a brief word of advice, try to stay away from the all capitals typing, as it makes your postings difficult to read...

I think it's cool that you have a huge Hogan's Heroes collection!
