Virginia Tech just got robbed.

Anyone else watch this? The receiver Coale makes an amazing catch in overtime for a TD, somehow the replay officials overturned the correct call on the field. Wow. I don't have a dog in this fight but MAN I hate to see games decided like this. image

    He was out of bounds. And the ball hit the ground.

    And they got away with a blatant facemask and hold on the 3rd down run by their QB that setup the 17-17 touchdown.

    I thought the refs did an excellent job tonight. Yeah, most of the controversial calls went Michigan's way but, in the end, they were the correct calls.

    On the comment the calls were correct, yes, I agree - the field officials made the correct calls for the most part. The problem was with the replay officials, especially their last call which was incorrect. Robbed and jobbed is spot on, and this comment comes from a lifelong fan of the Big Ten.

    Virginia Tech didn't lose because of that call. They lost because their special teams mistakes (three big ones) kept michigan in the game.

    I live in Michigan, so obviously I wanted them to win, but that was the most 'empty' win I've ever watched. Michigan got a lot of lucky breaks in the game.

    He made the catch in bounds and had possession. The line judge nearest him made the correct call, and the announcers in the booth thought the same thing. For those who missed it, judge for yourself.

    what about the kicker false starting on the winning kick but no flag thrown. he clearly moved forward before the snap and then stopped and regrouped.

    He wasn't out of the bounds but the ball touched the ground during the process of catching the ball which AFAIK is not allowed in college (unlike the NFL).

    Isn't that big white chalked area out of bounds? Cause that was the first thing his body hit. Besides, the ball hit the green thing also known as the ground during the attempted catch. It was a great effort. The replay got it right. Todd Blackledge is an idiot. MJ

    His elbow hit the ground first, in bounds. The problem is that the ball hit the ground, too.
