I won a 1959 Topps #212 "Fence Busters" featuring Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews graded PSA 9 mint last night. The SMR on this card is $800 and I won it for $505. With my $90 Ebay bucks, my costs this morning was $415. I am very pleased as it looks like a sweet card.

I was surprised last night that another card I bid on (1961 Mays MVP in PSA 9) went for around $525 with SMR at a couple hundred dollars greater than that. I think I bid at about the opening amount ($500+) and am actually glad I didn't win it as I don't have the funds. Someone got a nice card for a reasonable price.

Either SMR is too high on many higher end vintage cards or our card collecting friends are lacking funds to spend this soon after Christmas.

Your purchase on this card was a new low price for a PSA 9! The lowest previous was $580, and the average price for the last year was $665.33. Quite a nice grab even with ebay bucks, really nice with the $$ off!
    image

The 61 Mays was a decent deal, but not as good as the one you got on the FB card. Average Price over the last year: $612.76

That Aaron/Mathews is great! It's on my list for an upgrade sometime in the future after I've completed my Mathews Master Set.

There are a few auctions running currently that I'm waiting to use mine on.

I'm not so certain I'm going to be "in" for this, but I'm patiently waiting to see where this goes:

    1974 Dave Parker

If I'm out of the running on this, I'm going to look at upgrading one of my Mathews cards.

Hell yeah eBay bucks time. I had less than $100 this quarter in bucks which is the lowest of the year but I blew them on some Walking Dead cards from a card company called Cryptozoic. I am a huge fan of the comic series and TV show and decided to pickup some of the autograph and "game used" cards from this set. image

I picked up a bunch of bucks this year from buying gold and silver. I see why eBay quit giving out eBay bucks on bullion purchases for this very reason. Now you just have to find the items listed under the wrong category to still get the bucks. image

I hardly know what exists in modern stuff however the other day I was leafing through my Standard Catalog of Baseball prices and I came across Upper Deck Goudey 2008 which lists both new and veteren players. The Old Goudeys 33 and 34 were always favorites of mine so this issue sort of caught my eye.Idid not not even know they existed.Truthfully speaking I know very little of what is out there post 90.Anyways I went ahead and bought 2 boxes with my bucks. It will give me the pleasure of opening paks again. The only cards I am familiar during the modern period are the Topps Hereitage.

PSA 9 '78 Burger King Jack Morris. Always found that be a really cool card.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Only had about $6 this quarter so I bought a 1987 Topps baseball rack pack with Bo Jackson rookie on top. Always wanted one as I think Bo was probably the greatest athlete of my generation but hadn't picked it up. My "overage" on it was 19 cents. Not bad for 19 cents. image

I spent it on a basketball MVP Super Script (#/25), a Jerry Porter autograph, a lot of 25 numbered cards that included a Bob Sanders SP Authentic #ed rookie (fits several key card sets if graded), 2 PSA graded 1950 Callahans (Evers 7 and Cartwright 8), and a PSA 4 '61-'62 Richie Guerin IA. I still have a couple bucks left to apply to another purchase.

    Hey everyone, nice pick ups.

I purchased a '73 Nolan Ryan PSA 7 with my Ebay bucks and a gift card from Christmas. I'm three cards shy of finishing my basic Topps registry...so if anyone has a '91, '94, or '72 let me know.

Spent $13 EBAY bucks on this delivered. This is one of the most difficult Wrestling All Stars cards to find in nice condition. This has great centering and very strong corners but clearly has the typical circular print dots that plague many of these cards. I own the only PSA 9 and it is a beauty.

I have $24 bucks to go.
