Cards for Comics ??

Over the past year I have gained more and more interest in comic collecting. Right now I am trying to put together a Amazing Spider-man run from 1-100.
I was wondering if anyone here collects Cards and Comics and would be interested in trading one for the other. Let me know what type of cards you are interested in and maybe we can work something out.

Do you want them CGC graded or raw?

The first 40 or so ASM are some of the greatest silver age comics out there. Stan Lee at his best. Good luck with the collection.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I agree, I am currently trying to acquire a #14 1st app. Green Goblin. So far I have about 10-20 issues.

  • Very tempting... as my son (13) is now so much more into cards than comics. My comic collection is really large, and I've got ASM starting with #8, and then #15-current.

But I think best to hold them, as I love them too much!

Your best bet is hitting up a comic/card show in your area. Plenty of dealers sell both and if you've got vintage cards they would in many cases be interested in dealing.

From a dealer's perspective, the cards are easier to care and transport than the comics!

    Good luck!!
  • I'm a huge comic collector too. I suspended my new comic buying in 2008 when my son started college. I've been collecting actively since 1972, and basically have every Marvel and most DC comics printed from 1962-2008. I would reccommend going to your local comic shops first. After that try some of the big on line dealers: Milehigh comics, Metropolis, Lone STar (which I believe has a website under mycomicshop.com). You could inquire if they would trade cards for comics, but you might be better off just selling the cards to card collectors and using the proceeds to buy the comics.

Besides eBay, I've been most successful using ComicLink, although I have used Heritage and ComicConnect as well.
  • I loved some Spidey when I was in my teens. I started buying current issues from the local shop back when it was in the 240s. I was lucky/dumb enough to buy 4 issues of 252. For some reason I stopped serious collecting when just before issue 300- big mistake. I'm looking to complete an issue 200-300 run and then work back from there. I'm probably would like to that run to include graded copies of 200, 238, 252, and 300.

That being said- I have issues 58, 59, 61, 63, 68, 91. I'm not sure if I really want to trade these. Do you have any 200-300 ASM's? Card wise- any Raiders stuff (nobody current) or PSA Reggie's - just Topps from his Basic set.

Looking for low #'d 2006 Marques Hagans + 1991 Wild Card stripes of UVA players - Tony Covington, Shawn Moore, Herman Moore
