<< <i>My own perspective is that the RP and S 69s are soft or flat temporarily as flippers are selling off their 69s to cover costs and keeping their 70s. Like the '06 20th anniversary sets, a lot of eBay sales will continue through the next few years, but over time we'll see fewer offerings. At that point there will be two entry points for new investors: 69 and 70. Those who can't afford the higher price tags of the 70s over $800 a pop will be happy to get a 69 between $3-500. Just my take. >>
I agree with you that 69s will rise over time (as will raw sets) as the offerings thin out in the future and demand hopefully stays steady. Do you agree with my point, which is that, since very few of these coins grade below 69, that 69s should not and will not carry a premium over raw, other than the premium that the non-keys get for having the "set" pedigree? >>
I still contend there are higher percentages of 68's and below from the poor mint packaging and loose ratlers then compared to most other modern offerings.
If I get bored I might take a look at the submission thread and take a gander.

If you do that, I'd be interested in the results, but it's kind of hard for me to believe that the bottom half of the top 97% of any issue would carry a premium over raw. As I noted above, rattlers and other problems have only accounted for 3% of the published submissions to date across all PCGS labels. Are you saying that most (or any) other modern offerings have less than 3% grading below 69 AND have 69s selling for premiums to raw coins?
<< <i>The 69 coins have a big advantage over the opened boxes: the word "Set". Is it worth it? Maybe >>
Only you can be the judge of that if your willing to fork over a few extra dollars for a SET ..in 69 graded by PCGS...The label is saying that these coins belong together as a SET..If you have a Raw set..IMO..that's ok too.It doesn't matter to me.But if you are insistent on a Set by PCGS then by all mean ..Go for it...I don't mind...
Well folks its that time of the week again for my weekly reports on the S and RP coins. Well the beginning of this week brought some great buying opportunities and saw prices increase towards the end of the week. Overall an increase in the averages over the past week. PCGS 70 coin sales are sporadic and all over the place. Truthfully its hard to tell what average going prices are on these based on the little data I have but nonetheless Ive posted them.
First up are the NGS San Francisco coins in both MS69 and MS70. Certainly enough sales to get a good view on the market.
Here are the PCGS averages...not many sales for PCGS coins and averages seem to be dropping on these.
Next up are the Reverse Proof for NGC in both 69 and 70 grades. 69 prices are basically unchanged from last week, while 70 prices brought a massive jump of 3.8% and inching ever so closely to PCGS coins.
PCGS RPs are next in both 69 and 70 grades. 69 averages took a nose dive of about 3%. Sales for both 69 and 70 grades are slim. For 70 grades I had to take the averages from the 1st until now due to limited sales.
Well friends and fellow collectors its that time of the week once again and NGC Non Early release coins seem to be trickling into the market bringing averages for the San Fran MS69 coins lower than last week. Sales for NGC MS70 San Francisco coins are not enough to give a good average for this week. Only 2 days total worth of sales. Once again sales for 70 graded coins for PCGS are scarce and the averages arent accurate at all. This week brings also the 1+ monthly report on averages to give you guys a good idea on the longer trends. First up are NGC graded coins for San Francisco followed by PCGS:
NGC San Francisco (*Not enough MS70 sales for good averages*):
PCGS San Francisco:
And now on the the RPs
NGC Reverse Proof:
PCGS Reverse Proof:
Here are the long term averages for each of the coins.

Either a stunt or ebay glitch, relisted: 230734989801, starting bid $10
remember, you don't get all of the ebay sales when searching completed listings...
if a seller has a buy it now/best offer listed with several available (for example, 5 for sale in a single listing), you don't see all of the buy it nows or best offers taken until all of that quantity is sold.
In the past week, I sold two of my non-FS, plain blue label 2011-S PCGS MS69 coins with best offers of $325 and $350, well above the going rate of the various FS labels... but they just don't show up in the completed listings until all are sold. I wouldn't doubt that there are many results like mine that aren't being captured in these charts.

However, the item was relisted. Makes no sense and hopefully will be tossed when the charts are updated next week.
Here's another weekly report...the averages are dropping due to the arrival of more non-FS/ non Early Release coins. Ive gathered my stats regardless of the label. It dies skew the results of each but this is just a guideline to give everyone idea of where things are headed for the moment. A couple of reports I will not be adding because of lack of data. First up are the San Francisco NGCcoins
<< <i>Anyway we can get this weeks update Rodzm? Appreciate all your working compiling this data thanks >>
Sorry for the delay Ive been pretty much away all day today but will have the latest report tomorrow. I can tell you guys that MS69 PCGS San Francisco sales are very slim and I only found 7 sales in one week. For the MS70s there were even less so the charts will not be available due to lack of sales. Averages for the MS69 PCGS San Francisco was just over $248
Here are the NGC San Francisco MS69 and 70. The RPs will come tomorrow:
<< <i>I would think the next report would show a price increase...I looked at NGC RP70's this am and saw the last 3 at $512, 520, 550 >>
Indeed there are quite a few sales of PF70s above $500. My best guess is that this weeks average is up by a good margin. Very few sales though but enough to give a good idea where theyre headed
Allright everyone the report for this week on the Reverse Proof front is quite an eye opener. Reverse Proofs in NGC 70 grades jumped an astounding 7% and a total reversal over last week going up over $35. Still enough data to cover both grades in NGC so Ill post those. There is quite an anomaly going on with the PCGS 70s (and 69s). Using my typical search I found only 2 completed sales for the 70s at $525 and $630 respectively, for the 69s only 4 sales for an average of just over $285:
I find it hard to get the true price history of each coin since I saw some sell for, say, $250 but had a $12 shipping fee (real price $262) ..others sold at $255 but had free shipping. Some are Early Release (or FS) and some are not
There are some weird outliers mainly in the NGC MS70 bullion from the set....I've seen prices (adjusted for shipping costs) from $113 to $290 with a $250 thrown in...all within a two day period
<< <i>Did everyone lose interest in tracking these prices? I know I sure appreciate seeing the graphs! >>
Next report will be on Sunday to get a better view from a bigger data set >>
I still appreciate them. Thank you. I have a feeling these are just going to be a slow grind upward. Will be interesting to see how prevalent the spotting issue becomes.

Not me. I wish someone (or if I had the time) to do graphs on full graded sets (and raw sets). But, considering these are the keys, I can kind of get an idea what the sets are doing also.
<< <i>I've said it before, but I just want to say it again: THANKS so much for posting these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >>
Youre welcome...wish i could update these more often but I'd rathr have more data and a more accurate picture than do a weekly with very few data and unreliable results.
