Well, crap. They extended all three of the CC specials, but they DID add a $10 pack special - no membership required. Also added a $15 PSA/DNA special - also no membership required.

Drat that they made the PSA/DNA a blue flip with a $250 max value--I guess it isn't time to find out about my mystery Maris.

  • Just got done reading that as well.

$10 for the packs seems pretty good, no?

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

What is the difference between the blue/red flip? Is the blue where they just grade the autograph authenticity, and the red is both the auto/card grading? Thanks.

I'm considering biting the bullet and submitting my pack collection. I had a few questions before I submit that I hope some of you can help me with.

    1) How do you normally ship your packs? Do you put them in team bags or the hard plastic cases? I have them currently in the two piece plastic cases that I think were designed to hold team sets. They hold the packs relatively snug without crushing them.

    2) What is the typical turnaround time? I assume with this special, the turnaround time will be longer than typical.

    3) Have they completely eliminated the problem of gum breaking through the wax?

    4) Can you specify what stars are showing to have them include them in the label? A few are tough to see and require some detective work. For example, my 1964 wax pack has Mays/Cepeda (Giant Gunners) on the back but you can only tell by matching the visible text with examples of the reverse of that card. You can't see the card number or 'Giants Gunners' through the wrapper.

    5) For early 70s cellos, do they holder the pack with the outer box or do they just slab the pack itself? I have a 1971 cello with the accompanying outer box.

    Thanks.

    1. Normally I send between 2 things of cardboard with a rubber band around each - I mainly sub 1970's stuff.

    2. Turnaround time is normally the full 45 days - Steve from the BBCE has to look at each pack so it does take some time.

    3. No, still and issue - have not seen any changes to the cases that would prevent this from happening

    4. Yes, but not sure how much work they will put into checking on the star card - I think it has to be fairly visible

    5. I've never seen the cello boxes slabbed inside the slabs.

Thanks for the info. I thought I read on here that they fixed the gum punch-through problem. I'll have to reconsider whether I want to submit if they haven't resolved this.
