Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
I'd say the centering of the 33 cards in the cello was above avg. for sure. There are 2 more commons that I might submit, have a Jim Kaat that is borderline but apparently a tough one as 8's are $20+ and 9's are $150, so I might sub it. 10 out of 33 submittable is a pretty rare bird. Add in the fact that 2 of them were star cards and I'm happy with the rip for sure.
Anyone have a guess as to what the '75 Hutton mini might bring in 10? My knowledge of that set isn't very good.
73 Topps are not typically as well centered as these, but I had several of these that came from the same box (now down to just a couple) and they were certainly above average as far as centering goes...79s are really underrated...worse than 75 minis, imo..the Hutton looks sharp, too, imo, if not a bit highly centered.
Tommy, I would be interested in buying any/all of those cards for my set if they grade Mint 9...How are the backs centered? Any chipping along the black stock?
Nice pulls!

A Hutton in PSA 10 would be a $750 card, but that one is centered too high for a 10, might have a shot at a 9, though, which would still be a high dollar card, if it doesn't get hit with the OC qualifier or get knocked down to an 8/8.5. Good luck if you sub it!

backs are pretty good across the board, a few slightly off center and a few almost miscut but none on the ones I'm subbing. No chipping on stock.
Any common mini in PSA 10 is a several hundred-dollar card, especially under pop 3. When we are talking about a 1 of 1 PSA 10 of a card that is a notoriously tough 9, there is usually also a premium for such a card. In other words, Grote is right on at around $750-- more if me and the other fanatic set builders of minis are all after it. Heck a PSA 9 pop 5 Fred Stanley sold a little ways back for $1100.
Man those 73's are sweet! Were the cellos and rack packs put out in series like the wax packs?
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Initially, yes, but late in 1973 Topps switched over to the "all series" format for wax and cello packs, which they continued with going forward. Racks were typically produced in mixed series, with two sections from 1 series and the other section from a different one.

I was eyeing that '73 cello pack but coudn't justify the $$ with the spouse right before Christmas. If I bought the pack, that Munson would never see the light of day. I guess the more people rip, the scarcer the unopened stuff gets.

That Hutton is a $$$$ card in PSA 9.
