I'll send a prize to the person with the best score on this baseball quiz

Of course, HONESTY counts.
And, of course, NO CHEATING. Must do quiz from memory.
I got a measly 47 (out of 100). I know some folks here will do much better.
Happy New Years, all.

i only got 54.
thanks for the link, that was fun.
that was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I found myself sitting there for what seemed like an eternity trying to come up with a name... any name. I resorted to mentally going through Dodger rosters through the years (after the obvious other-worldly superstars of the sport's history). Took me the longest time to remember guys like Don Newcombe and Maury Wills - I've met both of them, could picture their faces, and for some reason was drawing a complete blank on their names.
I gotta say I was more than pleasantly surprised to type in "Brett Butler" and not only have him make the list, but come in at 291-300.

It was funny how in the last five minutes I was just throwing random names out there and I got hits on a lot of them. Fun game.
The grouping of the players made it hard to come up with more.
Harder than you'd think, because guys you think of are already in another group.

Went the last 4 minutes without getting a single one
A word to the wise, typing in Bob Uecker, Woody Held, and Rusty Kuntz was a waste of time for me.
52 for me.
The hardest part was wondering if the spelling was correct........instead of the name being already used or no good.

<< <i>33 - spent 20 minutes doing it and will now spend 30 minutes figuring out why they are grouped in 10... >>
They're ranked, 1-1000, broken up into groups of ten.
If you pick any of the first ten, you get the first chunk, and so on.
So, at the risk of *spoilers*, for this quiz, Babe Ruth=Hank Aaron=Ty Cobb.

I can't believe I got one by using Ed Kranepool, lol
54/100. The last few minutes are brutal. It seems odd that there's some Hall of Famers in the 900's.
Working on the following: 1970 Baseball PSA, 1970-1976 Raw, World Series Subsets PSA, 1969 Expansion Teams PSA, Fleer World Series Sets, Texas Rangers Topps Run 1972-1989

Wow that was tough.
I got a whole bunch by using random Brewers. Jeff Cirillo and Greg Vaughn. When I got them I started using any players from the 70's & 80's who were good but not great. That got me tons that I never would have gotten.
I got the first 15 then missed some very easy guys. How did I miss Sammy Sosa? UGH

I was surprised Mariano Rivera was so low (211+)
After the first 10 groups or so it was all guesses
so I started going through Topps checklists in my head
first 71T then 92 Bowman etc LOL
<< <i>I got 73 correct, including all of the first 30 groups.
Nick >>
looks like 73 is the number to beat
Got on a roll when I stopped looking at the other names in the groups. Just started typing names by positions that I grew up with, 70's and 80's.
