Hi everyone,
At this time of year I always look back to see how my collection has grown over the course of the year. 2011 was a banner year for me. Seems as though high grade key vintage cards were just falling into my lap all year long. I had to pay up, of course, but I came away with some real beauties for my vintage hockey collection.
I've enjoyed hearing about everyone's interests, and have learned more about unopened baseball packs than I ever thought a casual observer ever could. Anyone else want to share their 10 key pick-ups?

10. July-December- 1970-71 OPC deckle set. I had a high grade raw set and I bought a high grade PSA graded set and all of a sudden my set was complete in a GPA of 8.45.
9. May- 1979-80 Topps #18 Wayne Gretzky PSA 9. This card completed my Gretzky topps basic registry set in 9.18. Thanks, Dan!
8. July- 1955 Quaker Oats #44 Jean Beliveau in PSA 7. This card is very tough, and along with the Parkhurst version is one of the nicest set designs in all of hockey.
7. October- 1967-68 Topps #92 Bobby Orr in PSA 9. A very nice PSA 9 2nd year Orr and I had to have it.
6.September- 1971-72 OPC #45 Ken Dryden OPC rookie in PSA 9. This got me over the 9 GPA hump for my Ken Dryden basic registry set at 9.02. Thanks Sigmin!
5. August- 1955-56 Parkhurst #50 Jacques Plante in PSA 7. I'd been looking for this card in PSA 7 or PSA 8 for three years. I was so happy to get it in such a nice grade.
4. December- 1979-80 OPC #18 Wayne Gretzky PSA 9. This card completed my Gretzky O-Pee-Chee basic registry set in 9.07.
3. April- 1956 Topps #33 Roberto Clemente in PSA 8. My favorite Clemente card and a sweet PSA 8 to boot. My Clemente basic set still has some holes, so I'll have something to work in in 2012. Thanks, Matt!
2. October- 1953-54 Parkhurst #27 Jean Beliveau in PSA 8. This card was another of those cards that eluded me for years. This card got my basic set to a 8.21
1. March- 1951-52 Parkhurst #4 Rocket Richard in PSA 8. My set now stands at a GPA of 7.97. I dug deep for this example, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better condition Rocket rookie. Ah, my search for that card is OVER.
