Why is it no one will give me cards for x-mas?

Every year against my wishes my mother and sister insist on getting me gifts and ask for a list of gift ideas. I always put cards on there, list the current year and the brands, links to blowout and other places. I also put simple stuff like "white hanes t-shirts" encourging my sister and her to not over spend. It ends up with my mother buying me hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards (That I mostly dont use), framed prints and my favorite teams fan gear. Cards are the best gift anyone can give me. I hate to say it but I recently threw away 4 personlized framed prints from previous years that I am sure cost in the $100 range after framing and I got two more this year that I wont hang on my wall.
Do people see cards as a waste when it comes to gifts?

Ask for ebay gift certificates, I've been on the flip side of 'not getting cards' and early 90's basketball and a $40 card "with a real piece of the players jersey" in it (which sells for $5 on Ebay) changed my mind.

Exactly my point. If I had my way no one would get me anything at all. Christmas presents are for kids IMO. But if they are going to spend money it might as well be on something I enjoy.
