I'm neutral on that. I neither love it nor hate it. It's just so-so.
The streaky or mottled aspect to the toning is a slight negative, but not terribly so, because this particular example isn't too bad in that regard.
The toning actually does help provide some contrast, especially on the reverse, and makes the lettering "pop" just a little, so that could be construed as a very, very slight positive, I guess.
It doesn't seem to dampen the luster on the coin, which is a good thing. And the coin is an otherwise decent looking example.
So I'd say it's OK. You definitely can't fault its originality.

No mention of a numerical grade has been made but from the little I know about Washington Quarters, this reminds me of some of the ultra high grade pieces that leave me scratching my head.
Its toned just enough to show originality and not so much to be "dirty" looking (IMHO I know others here disagree). I like it, but just enough that I'd probably pick it up to look at it first ahead of other pieces of the simmilar date/type/mintmark/condition. But if the seller tried to get a premium for it because of the toning, I'd just politely pass on the piece.

And so that would make it hard to like if it were looked at through that lense.

This coin is far and away much nicer than the OP IMHO! ....and it would appear to worth a shot at TPG.
