Hi Guys.

The below message was posted on another thread yesterday by Doran. Please keep his family and him in your thoughts and prayers.

Yesterday I lost my 4 year old nephew to an accidental shooting. Apparently my sisters family had some friends visiting for the holidays and one of them had a loaded pistol (with a round chambered) in his luggage, the kids got playing around the luggage and found the pistol, my 3 year old nephew thinking it was a toy shot my 4 year old nephew in the chest killing him. One second of stupidity on the part of the adults present and a child dies. So this holiday season pull your loved ones in close, your whole world can change forever in the blink of an eye.

    Yes, wtf does some Idiot have to first bring his pistol where it is accessible , secondly leave it unattended, and lastly have it loaded?????? OMG. That would send me over the edge if I lost my child that way. May god be with those who need him most in that family image

    sad, sad news. it seems to me that this is the second time doran has had a tragedy strike his family (cannot remember the specifics of the other, but i think something happened to his sister??). anyway, i am heartbroken to hear of this--my thoughts and prayers go out to doran.

    Umm, that was my immediate thought. Wasn't there a break-in at his sister's place a couple of years ago? I wonder if this is the same part of the family, and perhaps they travel with the gun because of the scars of what happened before?

    Wow, just an awful story, on Christmas no less.

    That's terrible news, I hope the parents and the rest of Doran's family are able to find happiness sometime in the future. I'm not sure if I could after such a loss.

    This is a very sad situation. Everyone involved will never be the same. The "shooter" (I hate to call someone that young a shooter) will have to grow up with it, the family that brought the gun will feel guilty whenever they talk to any of the other family members, the family of the deceased will be greiving for probably the rest of their lives...

    This is a terrible thing to have happen. I feel so very, very sorry for everyone in the family, but especially the little boy who will have to grow up and live with this.

    Horrifically tragic news, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Doran is one of the good guys here at CU.


    I have to say this as well and it although it might offend, I seriously hope charges are filed against the owner of that gun, there is absolutely no excuse for anyone to be that careless with a weapon.
