Check out this PSA 8 EX/MT card!!

This is odd....the auction says PSA 8 (EX/MT), but the auction clearly shows that the card is a PSA 6!! What is worse is that the bidders are bidding the card up to a PSA 8 level! Odd to me......I guess someone is about to get screwed on Christmas Eve!

i'm much more impressed that he was able to pull 3 minor stars together from the early 70's and do a set break.
  • Card in pic sure does appear to me to be a ex-mt 6, hope this ends well.

Maybe its a labeling mistake. It definitely says EX-MT, which would mean 6.

I can't make out the number on the slab.

Is it possible PSA made a mistake and labeled it EX-MT 8. This is a tough one to figure. Blurry scan would seem to indicate seller not being truthful, but he has great feedback.

Someone asked the question and here is his response:

Questions and answers about this item

Q: Hey there. Listing says PSA 8, but the card scanned is a PSA 6. Which one is correct?

A: It is a PSA 8 for sure

It sure looks like a 6...

The label looks like it says an 8 to me. The card sure looks more like a 6 with that centering so my best guess is the card was mislabeled.

This makes for an interesting situation because the seller could claim he did nothing wrong because he is simply stating what is on the flip.

I say buyer beware on this one.

The number on the label looks like a blob. That picture is way too blurry to say it looks like an 8. There is no way that label says anything other than a EX/MT 6.

I just went through his prior sales and he has sold other graded cards.

It would make no since to sell this as an 8 if it does not say an 8. Even if he listed it wrong in error once a buyer asked he would have had to admit it said a 6 and shut down the auction and re list it.

I still believe it is a label error.

Using my electron microscope, I have determined with 100% accuracy that the label says:

    1981 Topps #39
    Bart Starx EX-MT 8
    19583877

    Buyer beware.

    Nope, he just combines grades.

I've been looking for a nicely centered VG 9. I wonder if he has any of those.
