FEEDBACKS.

Is it just me or are other sellers experiecing the same thing. In the early days of ebay it seemed like when you sold an item you always recieved Feedback on your sale.In the last year or so it appears maybe 1 or 2 of 5 buyers send you a feedbck.
Your opinions would be appreciated.

Sold something couple weeks ago that was the only thing that I hadn't been left feedback on recently and when I checked their "feedback left", I noticed they only leave feedback on items they sell, not on what they buy. That seemed kind of weird but oh well.
7,342 Feedback left
6,341 Feedback received
86.4% of buyers and sellers have left feedback. Not too bad I guess.
It may be a good thing if buyers don't leave feedback for you as a seller. It lessens the chance that someone may accidently ding your stars. If they aren't really concerned with leaving feedback, they would probably be even less diligent when filling out star #'s. I would guess that the buyers who always leave feedback are more careful when it comes to ratings.
I think it's become more of a pain in the rear to leave feedback, with 5 things to fill out, so many just don't bother.
Things to do in 2112 with E-Bay!
1. Convert all listings to Free Shipping with Cost built in so there is no Reason to care if somebody leaves me FEEDBACK or not. I would prefer to NOT get Feedback, I have enough, don't need anymore! Long Range plan is to have everything off E-Bay in 2-3 years. This stands out to me as the #1 reason of the Dozens that I can think of negatively, to get the Hell out of E-bay.
(Side Note to #1...............IF you send me an E-Mail Asking for Feedback and telling me how nice you were to do it for me then I will go out of my way to NOT leave Feedback, espescially after the second or third time you Insist that I do it)
2. Duplicate all listings at Bidstart to start the process of weening myself off E-Bay.
3. Open Store(s) at Bidstart for my Vintage Paperbacks and my Smut business's, as soon as they are up and running close listings on E-Bay.
4. Short term for E-Bay, increase listings from 1000-1200 to 2000 by end of the year. (Which consequently will increase Bidstart listings to same amount) At same time after Bidstart is up and running (My Stores), start closing listings with E-Bay. Inverse relationship to the point that E-Bay is dwindling as Bidstart listings go up.
5. Sever ties with Half.com and move 400+ Books from them to Bidstart.
6. Create Inventory system at Home so that it doesn't take me as long to Find an Item to ship (I've Sold), as it does to ship it!

Anytime I've sold something, I never expected feedback. I sold an item, not feedback.
Anytime I've bought an item, I bought the item not feedback.
So, I've never really cared.
As long as when I sell something I get the money, and when I buy something I get my item. That is what really matters.

<< <i>if you are an established seller, in the current world of ebay you are better off not getting feedback as it can only do bad things to you >>
Exactly. I do not like feedback anymore. My rating is good enough so that people feel comfortable dealing with me. The only thing more feedback does to me is lower my ratings for S&H ($2.50).
I ran a bunch of auctions with higher starting prices and FREE shipping in order to balance out the 4's I get.
I am amazed however, that the sellers are no longer able to leave anything but positive feedback. WTF? Aren't there two parties in every deal? Why did this happen? I for one would like to be able to check for buyers that don't pay etc. Seems like it should be fundamentally REQUIRED that if there is a feedback option BOTH people get to use it?
Anyone.....Bueller.........Anyone?

<< <i>The only time I ever asked for feedback was when I resumed selling after a long period of time and PayPal wouldn't release my money until I had a required amount of feedback. Ridiculous as I had over 1400 positive at 100%. Now that I have reached the threshold, it really doesn't matter as much.

Ebay claims that seller's were extorting or threatening negative feedback for buyers when the buyers weren't happy. I'm sure there were cases of that but it's like 2nd grade crap when the whole class gets punished for the one kid that put the razor blade in the teacher's apple. I'm tellin ya, that class hated my guts until the 5th grade .
Sorry I posted to this thread, I should have known it would come down to Funds over Fairness!
Have fun collecting and selling.
