been going on for years. What's worse is a lot of microchips manufactured in China have hidden "features." Years back, while working for DoD, we were instructed we could no longer plug thumb drives into computers tied to the DoD network. Rumor was they were sending data to "someone."
There's a story about a past vice-president's plane having to make an unscheduled stop on it's way to Europe due to electronic malfunctions. Story goes that once on the ground, the VP was greeted by a Chinese delegation that told him "we just wanted you to know our capabilities."
