I'm looking to upgrade the piece I currently have in my collection with this piece what are your thoughts? I thought it looked pretty decent in the photos.

Here is the piece I currently have.......the reverse is nice, but the obverse has had a light wipe.

Edited to add, it looks raised in the picture, like a die break. These are not my main area so i don't know the standard breaks that occur on them.

<< <i>I agree, I like the 1818 much better as well. Just for curiosity is that a pin scratch behind the head or just something in the photo?

It is a clash of the birds wing.
I am in the 1818 camp also.
I like the streaky toning.
<< <i>Nice! I favor the 1818 also. And I think it may be a bit undergraded at AU50. Looks 53/55 to me, depending on luster.

I was thinking that it looked sorta undergraded at 50 also, to bad you can't send it to cac for a gold sticker !
Looks like a strong AU58!!

They'd have to put the sticker on the coin
