Shady Cards?

Ive been keeping track of this seller and these cards for the past few months. The discription says that they found some cards in an old desk drawer. Really?! I dont think so. They keep listing the same cards over and over like they have them in stock or have unlimited access to them.

I would beware of this seller. I also read a post a while back on how someone on here mentioned this same seller and how he bought from them and the card turned out to be trimmed and they wouldnt refund. Put them on your favorites and youll see as well. Might want to block this seller.

"This card was recently found with stack of other vintage cards in an old desk drawer from a local furniture consignment shop. Its likely to have been in there for more than 50 years" - Seriously? Riighht

That sure sounds fishy but people do find things. I was putting up Christmas lights at my mother's house(she has done her own lights forever but had hip surgery so I volunteered) and went up into the attic to get some more lights and started snooping around and found a WWll sextant, AP photos of Jesse Owens and this set!

since he's not a naive seller about grading, why would he not get these graded considering how good they look? He'd be costing himself thousands.

def seems fishy to me. the only thing that is somewhat believable is that hes atleast now mixing in non star and non rookies as well. bascialy lower end guys.

I am suspect of anyone who keeps their feedback private. they don't want you to see what they have been selling for a reason

For the life of me I don't know why eBay even gives you the option to hide your feedback.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Not only not clear, but his auctions actually say 'Worldwide' for shipping.

  • Something just doesn't look right about this seller. Sure the cards look beautiful and I even considered purchasing but Ive noticed this guy has unlimited amounts of cards and he repeats some good ones too like 57, 59, 60 Mantles, Mike Schmidts rookie along with tons of Roberto Clementes and early Willie Mays plus more. Ive been checking out his cards for the past 4 months and its like non stop awesomeness but as I mentioned and believe - something just aint right about this. All the cards are in stellar condition and for someone to say that they found some cards in a drawer and then obviously make a living by posting non stop killer cards (which non are graded) kind of raises a flag to me.

Willing to bet all the cards are overgraded and are trimmed and color touched.

Not sure what it is but those cards have snow white borders on the front. That's the first thing I see when you look at the cards on the black background. You would think that the card stock would yellow just from age after 44+ years.

Yeah, if that paper stock were anywhere near 44 years old.image

    1952 Topps Willie Mays

I just happened to be searching past sales on EBAY and found this auction. I read the description and it instantly sounded like the seller you were talking about. I tracked down this thread and it is indeed the same seller.

So far his feedback seems to be great on completed auctions. It looks as if he ran into a non paying bidder the first time he ran this because it sold for $3,300 the second.

This card looks great to me but I am not used to dealing in cards that are commonly trimmed so perhaps it is not.

The desk drawer story though is a big red flag for sure.
