North Korean state TV: Leader Kim Jong Il has died.

IMO his death will have little effect concerning the metals. Hope his son is better, the N. Korean people could use a break. Take care. jws

His son and anticipated successor, Kim Jong Un, is said to have little to recommend him over his father and grandfather. But who knows...

It certainly seems to be an opportunity.

He's been dead in my mind since the N Korean Press reported he shot 3 hole-in-ones in 1 round of golf years ago. CMON!
That would be like the American Press saying that BO is MJ's real father because he can shoot a little ball. gimme a freakin break.
This aint news. For all we know he' been dead for at leat 3 years as tight lipped as he kept things over there.

Replacing one thug with another. The entire regime needs to go.

China is propping up N. Korea. So no drastic changes in the future.

So sad..... that it didn't happen years ago.

If I remember correctly, when he shot those 3 holes in one...it was his first time ever playing the game too. image

In mini-golf, 3 hole in ones is possible, even for a first-timer.

Glad it has happened.. unfortunately, there appears to be no relief for the people, since Kim Jong Un is just another nut case. Cheers, RickO

That whole movie is hillarious. One of the best puppet movie productions ever.
  • I've heard rumors that his son isn't expected too to be any better to the people or internationally... I wonder what his first big move will be

I have new respect for Kim Jong. I was astonished to discover his athletic magnificence. I had heard rumors but to hear the truth from the N. Korean people did it for me. This mans athletic prowess can no longer be denied.
While I would not class him as the best athlete of his time his unique qualifications; well they made him unique. One neat little invention of his was the invisible telephone he used during soccer matches.
Although Kim Jong had some awesome talents, just ask anyone in N. Korea. They look at you as if you were downright dumb. Kim Jong could do anything he desired in his own country.
Unfortunately for the world and his subjects he has done nothing to enhance our world. Maybe his son will acquire new skills; I'm not betting on it.

Don't everybody be so quick to scoff at Kim Jong Il's athletic achievements. He even made it into the latest issue of Sports Illustrated (December 26th, page 22). On his first golf outing, Kim shot 38 under par, including 11 holes in one. After he got older and his skills declined he would usually only sink 3 or 4 aces per round. Kim also bowled a 300 on his first try.
