Perfect dealer show

I have to take my hat off to Don Willis and PCGS for putting on what I would say is a perfect show. There are three options when it comes to focusing a show: focus on dealers, collectors or a balanced approach. The ANA attempts to be balanced but with the direction that organization is heading we know thats not going to continue. CSNS is trying to alienate dealers by focusing only on collectors, not realizing where their huge surplus of money came from. FUN and Whitman have time and again shown themselves to run great shows taking care of both collectors and dealers. And Long Beach... well wait a few years and it will either find focus or die.

Don and PCGS put on the best dealer focused show. Now before you all jump all over me for saying there needs to collectors at a show that is true. BUT having a focus on dealers does not mean collectors are left out in the cold. In fact, the show is great for collectors. For the most part, the collectors that come are serious and knowledgeable. Both dealers and other collectors can learn from sitting down and talking to them. Unlike shows where the focus is bringing as many people together as possible in order to promote the sponsoring organization, the focus of this show is getting coin people together to buy and sell coins and ... well get coins walked through at $80 a shot. The food is not only edible but downright tasty and coffee and soft drinks are provided the entire show. The BEST part is that the show is so very laid back. You can take time to sit and talk to people for significant amounts of time whom you may not get to talk to at a regular show. The rooms were amazing and very reasonably priced. Last but not least, how can a show be bad with a poker room less than a 5 minute walk from the bourse.
