Mike Milbury charged with assaulting a child

Saw this on the local newspaper's website:

Former Bruins player and coach Mike Milbury has been charged by the police in Brookline, Mass., with assaulting a 12-year-old hockey player last week, according to a story reported by WCBV-TV in Boston.

The incident took place during a hockey game last week; Milbury was the assistant coach for his son's team. According to The Boston Herald, Milbury's son got into an altercation with another player, at which point the 59-year-old Milbury allegedly charged onto the ice, berated and shook the other player.

He is charged with assault and battery on a child, threats to commit a crime and disorderly conduct.

Milbury was a Bruin from 1975 to 1987. He coached them from 1988 to 1990, and now works as a TV analyst.

milbury is a hockey night in canada regular, appearing on a panel during the second intermission. always outspoken, he is somewhat entertaining but mostly just a jackass. i wonder if he will be on tonight?

    From the article:

Milbury is now an NHL analyst with NBC Sports, which said Friday he’d been taken off the air. “We both came to the conclusion that he should remain off the air while focusing on his affairs,” NBC Sports said in a statement.

They also mention there is video of the episode. Sounds like he is done on TV
