ebay buy/best offer option

Has anybody ever sold with the ebay buy/best offer option? I would like to use this option for a lot of common cards that I have and would like to know if people think that is a better option to sell semi quickly, or should I go with an auction. I do have a set price in mind, so it makes the decision a little more difficult. I am thinking best offer option because if people see a high priced starting price they will pass me by. Would love opinions, as this is my first listing on ebay thanks.

  • Since this is the first you are selling I am assuming you do not have an eBay store so you will be paying $.50 to list each BIN. You should be getting 50 free listings at any price so it may be more cost effective to just list auctions at starting prices near what you would be willing to sell for. There is also a slight difference in FVF for auctions versus BIN listings that also will be in your favor if you list as an auction (about 2.5% or so).
  • Also, you may want to offer the items for sale here on the BST forum first in an attempt to save fees.
  • list straight without the BEST offer , but give your phone number in the description and wait for people to calls with offers...
