Metal Detecting in Destin Florida

I have been here in Destin for over a month in a condo have and found less than $4 and no gold. I have not been detecting in the water, but I have detected at the public beaches in the area and in front of the condos and I have not even found much trash, just a few pull tabs. I thought maybe the beaches have just re-nourished.

Has anyone here on the forum had any luck metal detecting in Destin Florida?

What kind of detector are you using? It could be that it is not made for the sand and that you may be missing the good stuff. -Dan

I have a Fisher CZ7a and I have found a lot of good stuff on other beaches.
