All is good! Never had any problems with this thread or any comments here. Good banter is a fun (and critical) part of what we do here and makes it worthwhile. I never took any offense and actually I come back to threads somewhat randomly, so often I don't even see further expansion of thoughts. I returned and saw that there was a concern and to me, there is not at all. I certainly understand the pros and cons of the action of collecting slabs and the 'action' of doing it might be a bit stupid as opposed to me being personally that way.
But . . . then I go combine them both and pay through the nose for a Doily I want and verify everyone's thoughts, including my own self-doubt!!!
No sweat here at all . . . other than if Jon ever finds a dime he doesn't want in a Doily, I hope he sends me a fast PM !!!
(and now back to to flippin' and 25th and hockey pucks and BST stuff)
I had to go with "just show me the results," because I'd pay the premium on the black slab and the 36/29-S dime, but not the clipped cent--"two out of three" wasn't shown as an option. I like the idea of a black background--I think they would look better than the stark white of NGC's long-standing holder design--though the prongs with EdgeView do help lessen the white-out effect. I'd pay a premium for a graded Mercury unless it were a ludicrous amount or a well-worn example worth little more than its silver content--though even an obscure overdate variety should carry some premium.
