I just thought I'd share my latest signed Cal Ripken photo. Over the summer, I obtained an original photo from the archives of The Baltimore Sun, who did an article about two Maryland teenagers being drafted into the Orioles farm system way back in August of 1978. One was a pitcher by the name of Tim Norris and the other was an infielder whose father was a coach with the Baltimore Orioles, Cal Ripken Jr.
Through some detective work, I was able to track down Tim Norris, who eventually pitched in about 150 games in the Orioles farm system, never rising above Class AA...Tim was glad to sign his name and added his uniform #.....That gave me the idea that when I got Cal to sign the picture, that he should rightfully add the uniform number he wore that summer in Bluefield, WV as well #16..
Enjoy!

<< <i>On a somewhat related note, here is a game program from that season, signed by the entire team (note what Cal's signature looked like 30 plus years ago!):IMF >>
Yeah, it's nice to be able to read a player's signature! I also see that two of Cal's future Baltimore Orioles teammates also signed that program ... Mike Boddicker and John Shelby ... as well as future Toronto Blue Jays Gm, Al Widmar. Widmar was a minor league manager in the late 70's.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
