grades back

received grades back from out host

1st- timely done even in spite of my inability to do things appropriately so kudos to the PCGS team that keeps submissions moving

Mexico, Canada, GB and Germany were the big ones

Lets start with GB

1847 1/2 Farthing- this one graded 64
1773 Farthing- big die breaks and still nice and it graded 64

I submitted a 1960 Crown because I really thought it was a terrific coin and it came back PL65- I was not sure and thought it looked too good for a PL- The hairline detail and the overall quality was just too good not to submit and a PL65 just does not capture this one but as the old saying goes, ownership adds a point or 2

I also sent in a 1758 shilling which I liked and it came back 58- the strike on this date sets the bar as to whether it will get an MS grade

Germany

1909 A Mark- MS63- A nice coin and I see this as a deceptive coin in terms ot the quantity remaining in MS

A few 1911 1/2 Marks E and F that graded 62 AND 63

I submitted a 1930F (ms64) and and 1930J (pf63cam) Rhineland 5Mark and that seemed to be appropriate

Mexico

Just some common Pesos- 1933-(66), 1944 (66), 1945 (65) and 1943 (65)- I like these and still see high end examples as not being as common as the next collector. I submitted a 1930 5 Centavos that graded 62 br- I like this series as well and never seem to see them in unc

Canada

Maybe for those that attend NYINT we can talk about Canada- among other countries.

Is this one for sale? I have not been able to find a PL example that I liked.

Some of the smaller coins have the new PCGS holder that provides a good angle to see the rims. The largest coin featured in this holder was the Bronze 5 Centavos from Mexico. I am not sure what the size limitations are for the new style holder- maybe 26mm?

I will bring the 1960 Crown to the NYINT for you to see- I doubt that I will sell it. I thought it was possible that it was a VIP

Nice grades. Good job on the Mexico gems. I agree with you that those are sleepers in MS65+
