Beyond jazzed with my latest addition ...

I recently started collecting Pirates cellos and nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this offered.

My favorite card of one of my favorite childhood players.

    Wow, that is impressive.
After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.

  • I believe that if you could get Al Oliver off of his couch and put him at the plate he could still rake. That man could just plain hit.

  • Awesome Pack Scott!!!!
  • Oliver is one of the most underated players ever.

If you look at Kirby Puckett's career data through age 35 (when Kirby retired) it lists Al Oliver as the most similar player. The only difference is that Al played three more seasons, two of which he was a .300 hitter with decent production. Yet, Puckett is a first ballot HOFer and Al Oliver got less than 5% on his only time on the ballot. Not saying that Al was better than Kirby, but was Kirby 78% better than Al Oliver?
