PSA 0 Cards

I am looking at cards that are graded PSA 0. It says that it is Authentic, so I am assuming that the owner just got it authenticated and not graded. Would you buy a 0 card or just find a graded card. The cards I am looking at look pretty good, but I wanted an opinion, as I have not found information on a PSA 0. Thanks.

Working on the following sets
1980's and 1990's Topps Baseball BBCE FASC - Cello or Wax Boxes
1952 Bowman US Presidents PSA 7 & up
Pro Football Hall of Fame Indianapolis Colts PSA Registry Set
June 9th Cubs full ticket or stubs - 1981 to 2020
Andre Dawson Topps Basic registry PSA 10's
Mark Grace Topps Basic registry PSA 10's

  • I believe it means a couple things. First, it's too damaged to grade a PSA 1. Two, it was trimmed, recolored or basically altered and the owner wanted it simply authenticated. I can't think of anything else right now.

Thanks for the information. I'm probably going to pass on the cards and just get ones that are graded with a number.

Depends on the card and the reason it was only Authenticated.

    Never heard of PSA 0.

    Good for you.

I have a card that was possibly sheet cut that came back trimmed, but it is so hard to find (1968 Plaks Checklist), I was considering having it graded authentic. Since it is not in the Killebrew registry yet, I'll wait. It would be nice to have it protected though.

no such thing as a PSA-0

If its a PSA-Auth then like others said it could be altered, or fall below a 1, but it also could be perfectly fine and NRMT as well.

Many strip cards or cards that are handcut (ie Nabisco, Hostess, Wheaties, etc.) wont be graded with a number grade, only because they are handcut, sometimes very nice with a vintage cut on the line or just within.

If you actually described the condition and the type of card it is, then you can get more than a generic answer.

Yeah I should have described what I was looking for from the beginning. Sorry about that. I was looking at t206's and in the description it says PSA 0 but the slab itself said it was authentic and did not have any qualifiers. Still I am not sure it is worth it. Because when one of the other posters mentioned trimming, it got me looking at the cards with suspicion, at first glance they look great but I went looking at others that were labeled authentic and they had been qualified as trimmed. I can't get pics to load or else I would. Any opinions if you have dealt with this would be appreciated. I will try to upload pics later, if I can, just wanted to give a quick answer to the last post. Thanks for the help.

To post pics you need a host. Photobucket is what most use.

DL the picture to your computer, then go to PB and upload it there.

Copy and paste the url directly to the texting window.

    Hope that made sense.

    Good for you.

I would go with an authentic if it were a hard to get items like a test issue or some pre WW II cards of Hofers.

If it is for you and not the registry I would buy an authentic card. Often they have great eye appeal.

After those four National League games, Gorman Thomas was never the same, and neither were the Brewers, and come to think of it neither was I.

  • Actually, there is only one PSA 0 card ever graded: The MAD magazine Alfred E Neuman T206. And I believe that card sold at auction a year ago...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?
