Xavier and Cincinnati Fight

What did you guys think of that fight. I honestly think some of these basketball players who are just little kids. I think its good entertainment but when someone starts bleeding around his eye and people are throwing punches to the face in front of their fans and coaches, then enough is enough. Both teams made their school look bad.

Saw a clip of the Xavier post game press conference and one of their players said they (Xavier) had a "locker room full of gangstas". Couldn't have said it better myself.

Why were the star players still on the court at the end of a blowout game?

Just heard some audio from the Cincy coach - I like that guy A LOT. Called out his own players for not taking advantage of the privilege to play scholarship BB.

my son played in an AAU tournament two years ago that had games at both campuses and the dislike that these two schools have on the basketball court for each other was evident just from talking to some of the folks who were there. sad that it happened....but the way they promote some of these games make you wonder why it doesn't happen more often. hey it's a game, and I also agree with the folks who commented about the scholarships issues, maybe if they started taking the scholarships away when this nonsense occurs it would make them think twice before throwing a punch. I wish my kid was big enough to even get a partial amount of money....alas five eight point guards don't get recruited by these two schools.

And then failed to really do anything about it. 6 games for a guy who sucker punches an opponent then punches a second opponent then challenges a third? That guy should have been gone for the year.

Yeah, his actions really didn't live up to the postgame rhetoric, did it?

How about this idea? Not only does the offending player's scholarship get revoked, but that scholarship goes to one of the walk-ons (or "Rudys" as I like to call them). If the offending player wants to come back next year they must do so as a walk-on. I think that's the only fair way of doing it. If you abuse a big privilege like a free ride to one of the finest name brand universities in the country (as is often the case) then not only do you lose it but it goes to someone more deserving.
