1979-P SBA Wide Rim PCGS-66 with link to image

This is the last of several of these that I placed on Teletrade over the last year. I bought this one back about three months ago because it did not bring enough $. In my opinion this was the nicest of the group. Available on Wednesdays' Teletrade auction. Here is the link...1979-P Wide Rim SBA PCGS-66(noted on holder)

If anyone has one for sale besides on Ebay or Teletrade or heritage, etc... let me know! I need one for my "type" set. Thanks, Brian.

misterR, I'll try to help make sure it sells this time. image

Brian, I sell these, but depending on what you're trying to do with a type set the 1980 and 1981 SBAs are also wide rims. And a 1980-D, for example, is a lot cheaper in higher grades.

These coins seemed to have exploded in value. On eBay I just sold one in MS65 for $125 and Supercoin just sold an MS66 for $305. image

I don't look at them too often. Are these that hard to find or are these price just out of line?

They're getting a lot harder to find in my safe, that's for sure! image

I haven't searched for any lately, but in my previous experience they aren't any harder to find compared to the narrow-rim, as a percentage of number of coins searched, though neither variety is a "gimme" in MS66.

However, the raw Wide Rims are more difficult to come by, and a lot more expensive per coin. Also you aren't likely to find them in unopened and unsearched rolls like the normal variety.

    So, who knows.

BTW, all the mint-state SBAs seem to be selling a bit better lately than previously, appears to be more demand vs. quantity right now.
