Member Grading

With the influx of recent submissions of the 25th sets. I wonder why the two grading services do not offer a non member grading service. I am one of the probably many collectors that may or may not grade a few coins. And with the cost of the membership and the cost of grading it is not cost effective to submit the coins to the grading services that charge a membership. I understand that there is a price difference for a coin that’s grade by different companies. But the return is not worth it unless you are doing more the a few submissions.
If I was to submit 5 coins the difference in price realized between the non member grading services and the member grading service are maybe 2 grades different at most. Now if you are grading non modern coins then it would seem worth the cost as the difference between a MS63 and MS 64 can be great. But if I am getting a Modern coin grade the difference in price realized is not.
So my question is why doesn’t the member grading services offer a non member grading service for modern coins. Of course I can see a minimal cost increase added to a per coin submission. For example I submit five eagles and I'm charged an extra $2 per coin as a non member.

I'm just making a guess, but the income from memberships is probably a factor. Also, you have the option to submit through a member dealer without having to pay for your own membership.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Like he said, your local PCGS dealer/ coin shop can submit for you - PCGS dealers get a discount, so you might find that your cost is equivalent to what it would be if you were a CC member.

Nearest PCGS dealer to me is over 4 hour drive and Ive never worked with any of them. Im kinda stuck with getting my coins together and putting one submission together for myself. That is unless I can find another coin club member that wants to submit coins which is highly unlikely.
