So I See That NGC Now Grades Colorized Coins?

I'm pretty sure they were genuine NGC holders. Colorized cartoon figure coins from Tuvalu and also a couple 2011 Australian colorized Christmas tree coins I've seen.

So now that colorized coins are fair game, can chocolate coins be far off......and would they need to be kept refrigerated?

BTW, I haven't seen anything in any of the grading guides regarding how many grade points a coin loses for a paint chip. imageimage

The Tuvalu coins are issued with the color on them. Wouldn't PCGS also grade these coins?

    1) As minted, right? So what is wrong with that other than the mint doing it?
    2) I thought this was the US coin forum? Last I looked, neither Tuvalu nor Australia were part of the US image

I don't take NGC serious anyway...they can do what they want.

I have never sent a coin to them and never will.

The Australian $1 coin looks Real Nice and are made by the Aussi Mint like many of their coins that
are colorized which I have a few of. Much nicer done than by some after market company.

    One quick question:

Does this mean that NCS will now have to stock little bottles of touch-up paint for conserving colorized coins? image

Some collectors like flavor and a bit of color to their collection...like guitar & motorcycle coins. Why you wanna take it out on the grading service, they are only providing a service that seems to be in demand?

Heck, we already have special colorized inserts for different events and marketing that have logos or images on them.

The mint doctors are way better than the coin doctors. FIFO is their slogan. The coin doctor's mantra is FUFU
And everyone is catering to the collectors' wants image Go figure. The grading company's mantra is FS-ER
Although, I appreciate not just those two (ours truly and NGC), but ICG, PCI, & ANACS, to list a few, as it comes to "service". Top performance comes from what's inside the slab. These holographic and colored coins are very popular in the store. Don't ask me why image

Yup. Too much Koolaid flowing here. Dragon criticizes NGC for doing the same thing that PCGS is doing. Totally unreal.image
