Best place to store coin collections

I am hearing mixed things when I google this but I thought the bank was the best place to store an investment like this because of fires, earthquakes, etc. the bank vault is still super secure? Or is that not the case and it's better to get your own vault and hide it underground? o.O

I imagine we will now see the gun posts, but for the most part your coins will be safer in the bank. Nothing is foolproof.

If you have the means, a secure safe at home is always a convenient option.
I hate running to my SDB 1 or even 2x a week, but I do feel my coins are safer there!

But the final decision has to be weighed by how you value your collection and
the costs involved in securing what you own

For over a decade now I have kept all my coins in various safe deposit boxes and it has worked wonderfully for me.

    This.

I also have a mammoth safe for stash on weekends when I can't make it back to the bank in time. Otherwise, it goes to one of the SDB's.

My safe is full of crap intentionally 365/24/7. MJ

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Storing your collection in a home-made underground vault in your backyard is the best way keep your valuables safe.

Just remember: Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

HAH HAHAHA I have never laughed so hard in my life. I laughed so hard my rib was poking me in my side while I was choking on my snack.

I think I'm also laughing at remembering real life stories of idiots doing that very same thing.

I keep them in Safe Deposit Box as an added precaution I bought an insurance policy that protects them at home, at teh bank and while in transit from my house to the bank.

I keep low end fun stuff, like bags of wheat cents around the house to play with and put everything of value into bank boxes.
Not as much fun as keeping them all at home but you sleep a lot better.

    Good to know thanks =)

The bury underground meaning not in the yard but under the house cemented wall vault haha. That would suck to treat the vault like a time capsule and a dog dug it up or peed on top of the soil where it rested and corroded the safe lol.
