Resub 57 Dodger Sluggers?

I like to collect 57 Topps in PSA 4, they can be had pretty cheap and often the grade is due to an almost invisible wrinkle and it's an otherwise gorgeous card. So I picked this one up and I'm wondering if I should resubmit. The only blemish I can see is a very small indentation, about the size of a pencil tip, just next to Hodges right hand. I had to look at the card 3 times to even find the indentation.

Would that be enough to drop this card to a PSA 4?

Looks like alot of snow on the front, and some extra print on the back.

That being said, it can be cracked and subbed at a low value, making it about a $5 risk, well worth the gamble IMO as I don't see it getting any less than the 4 it is now.

Edit: I could see it in a 5 to 6 holder with the corners and centering. Guess it depends on that indentation mostly.

Wrinkle usually means a 5...absolutely beautiful card. If a one grade bump is worth the resub money then I would go for. The snow on the 57s is very common.

  • I have probably 1500-2000 1957's, graded and raw. I would not be surprised to see that in a PSA 5 or 6 holder, but I also would not be surprised to see it come back again as a PSA 4. I do believe the grade is due to the snow and the ink spots or dirt on the back.

That being said, I would definitely give it a shot when you have other cards going in for grading. Small fee for possible huge value!

  • That's a great looking card. Crack & re-sub and get that thing in a 6 or 7 where it belongs.

  • Is there some sort of residue on the back? Most prominent near "Duke" and "MVP"
