Is there a book on 1936-1942 proofs?

I just bought a used copy of Tomaska's 1950-1970 book but I don't see anything on the earlier proofs.

I have not seen one, but sure would love one.

Maybe one of our industrious users will start working on it!

I recall seeing a discussion of these in Lange's book:
Lange, David W./A Guide Book of Modern United States Proof Coin Sets (The Official Red
    Book series, vol. 4)

Breen's proof encyclopedia devotes a few pages to them.

A few years back I heard that Rick Tomaska was planning on wiriting a book on US Proof Coinage from the 1850's [when, to my understanding, the mint started producing proofs on a regular basis] or maybe even earlier through the present day.

I do not know if he has gotten the project off the ground, or if it is still on the "some day" list, or if he changed his mind.

There is a substantial amount of information on 1936-42 proof coinage available on this forum as it is a popular topic. Many forumites have substantial knowledge and experience about and with these coins.

The Tomaska book on 1950-70 Cameo proof and SMS coinage is very good. It triggered my interest in that niche area of the hobby and has caused other collectors to seek out those coins.
