My Merry X-Mas Present... Part NFL Owner

My gift to myself this year... today I purchased my stock in the Green Bay Packers! So happy that they made this opportunity available again. I've been eagerly anticipating the day when this would happen again... as I missed in 97-98 when I was just a lowly enlisted member of the Air Force and couldn't justify the $200 at that time.
Any other new Packers owners on the forums today???
Happy Holidays!

Is there a dividend or any "monetary" benefit to having the Packer stock, or is it just bragging rights?
Have a great Christmas!

Nope, no monetary benefit what-so-ever... pretty much just the bragging rights. But as a die-hard, that is more than enough for me. My father and I have a brick at Lambeau Field, and now I can say I'm a shareholder too! The nostalgia is more than enough for me.
However, and it's admittedly kinda cheezy (albeit I'm sure I'd probably still do it), when they win the Super Bowl... you can buy your own exclusive shareholder Super Bowl ring
I'm looking forward to the annual shareholders meeting next year!

I was lucky enough to be able to get my wife a share this morning, she is a HUGE Packers fan. She has always said the one thing she wanted more than anything was to own
Packers stock. I'm thrilled to be able to do this for her, I CAN'T WAIT for Christmas day now! The look on her face will be worth every penny I paid and a whole lot more.
Being a hardcore football fan myself, I can totally understand wanting to be an owner. Now you can say your part owner of an NFL team and mean it! How cool is that?
*Edited to add congrats to my friend Gumbyfan!*
Anyway, where can I go to get one?
Thanks,
Bob

<< <i>OK How do I get part ownership? This would be a great Christmas gift for my son. He is a hugh Packers fan......well I am a fan too but this would be a great gift for him. He is 10 years old and has always loved the Packers. He never cheered for the BEagles and I stopped when they signed Vick.
Anyway, where can I go to get one?
Thanks,
Bob >>

"The NFL Rules prohibit conduct by shareholders of NFL member clubs that is detrimental to the NFL, including, among
other things, owning a financial interest in any other NFL member club or other professional football organization; loaning
money to other NFL member clubs or any player, coach or employee thereof or any football official employed by the
NFL; acting as an agent for any NFL player; publicly criticizing any NFL member club or its management, employees
or coaches or any football official employed by the NFL; or paying an NFL player or coach. If the Commissioner of the NFL
(the “Commissioner”) decides that a shareholder of an NFL member club has been guilty of conduct detrimental to the
welfare of the NFL then, among other things, the Commissioner has the authority to fine such shareholder in an amount
not in excess of $500,000 and/or require such shareholder to sell his or her stock. In addition, if the Commissioner
determines that a shareholder has bet on the outcome or score of any game played in the NFL, among other things,
then the Commissioner may fine such shareholder in an amount not in excess of $5,000 and/or require such shareholder
to sell his or her stock. If the Commissioner requires a shareholder to sell his or her stock, then the Corporation may
have a right to repurchase the stock at $0.025 per share. See “Transfer Restrictions.”"
<< <i>Hopefully none of y'all get fined for mouthing off about the team or by doing any gambling on football, LOL. Some of the fine print.

That's some funny stuff right here...
Q Will I receive any special benefits, such as access to tickets to Packers games, by purchasing shares of Common Stock?
A You will not receive any special benefits with respect to tickets, preferential seating or discounts on merchandise, but you will receive an invitation to the annual meeting and the opportunity to purchase exclusive shareholder merchandise. Please advise the Corporation of address changes so that we may continue to reach you
Sure this is cool, but I just don't understand the reasoning behind them saying once you buy a share you can only resell it back to the team for a small fraction of what you paid. This makes no damn sense to me. If you could openly resell these once they are no longer being offered to the public then this would create a secondary market of speculators and would get more people to outright buy them.
I just don't get it. Was looking forward to buying a few myself until I saw I am not legally allowed to resell them in the future. Go 49ers!!!

I am the oldest son and my Mom works for them. Hopefully many years from now I will inherit this. She got this for last seasons Super Bowl.
Fits me alright and already has my name on the side!

Good enough for me!
That is freaking awesome!!!
<< <i>It is kind of bogus all the rules involved with being a stockholder, yet it really isn't stock since you can't resell it and it doesn't pay dividends.

My best guess is that no one person is allowed to own more than 200 shares at once. If the stock could be bought and sold like other stock, then someone could in theory
buy a whole bunch of it, become majority owner and take control of the team.
